Assembly Winter reaches playoffs

Semi-final pairs of ENCE eSports versus H2k and Partyastronauts against Minttu have been set at Assembly Winter after first day of competition in Helsinki, Finland.

Group A saw ENCE eSports score an easy win over Paranoia eSports in the opening round with a 16-6 score on de_dust2, before having a much harder time with Norway's Partyastronauts.

The Norwegians scored eight rounds on the harder counter-terrorist side of de_dust2, but Aleksi "allu" Jalli's ENCE outdid them, putting up nine round of their own to top group A.

Paranoia knocked out Menace 19-17 in overtime, and set up a deciding match versus Partyastronauts. The Finns went up 10-3 at one point, but lost 12-16 after a 1-12 terrorist side on de_inferno.

In group B Timi "aslak" Verkkoperä's Minttu survived Cursive 19-17 in overtime, while H2k took down MayaM Gaming. The Estonians then bowed out at the hands of Cursiv, with a 9-16 score.

Verkkoperä's Minttu then topped the group with a 16-10 win over H2k on de_train, setting up the possibility of a grand final versus his former teammates in ENCE eSports tomorrow.

H2k easily knocked Cursive out in the elimination game to advance in second place, which means they will be facing Joona "natu" Leppänen's ENCE eSports tomorrow.

ENCE will take on H2k at 10:00 in the morning, while the match between Minttu and Partyastronaus will kick off at 12:30 . Third place decider is scheduled for 15:00 , and grand final for 18:00 .
